Founded in Springfield, Massachusetts, by George M. Hendee and Oscar Hedstrom, Indian rapidly gained fame for its pioneering spirit, introducing the first American V-twin engine and the first motorcycle to reach 100 mph. These groundbreaking achievements laid the foundation for a brand that became synonymous with power, reliability, and excellence in the early 20th century.
Iconic models like the Indian Scout, Indian Chief, and Indian Roadmaster have defined generations of riders with their classic design elements, valanced fenders, and rich paintwork, serving as a symbol of American motorcycling heritage.
Throughout its storied history, Indian Motorcycle has navigated through challenges and ownership changes, but in recent years, under the guidance of Polaris Industries, it has experienced a revival, breathing new life into beloved models while embracing modern technology and performance.
Today, Indian Motorcycle stands as a testament to the enduring allure of the open road, offering riders an opportunity to connect with the rich history, timeless craftsmanship, and the undying spirit of adventure that defines the American motorcycling experience.
